Tarvaris Jackson Placed on IR

Tarvaris Jackson's streak of consecutive regular season starts will end at one, as the quarterback was placed on injured reserve by the Vikings. Jackson, stepping in under center for the Vikings as Brett Favre's streak of regular season starts ended at 297, left Monday night's game against the Giants with turf toe.

Favre won't be placed on IR himself and could be available to start Minnesota's Monday night game against the Bears. If he can't play, rookie Joe Webb -- who stepped in for Jackson against the Giants -- will likely get the nod. The team has also reportedly signed Patrick Ramsey.

Webb is a sixth-round pick who originally was going to be converted to wide receiver. He was 2-for-5 for eight yards against the Giants.
