SmackDown Spoilers: Sheamus vs. Randy Orton World Title Match Results

For those who don't know, the main event on this Friday night's SmackDown is Sheamus vs. Randy Orton for the World title. Please don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

*Spoiler Alert*

Christian was announced as the special referee of this match at the beginning of the show.

During the match, Sheamus bumped Christian unintentionally. Sheamus had Orton beat, but the count was delayed due to Christian being hurt.

After Randy recovered, he hit Sheamus with the RKO for the win. The show concluded with Christian whamming the belt over Randy Orton's head.

So it seems as if a heel turn with Christian is currently sprouting week by week.

Jose Duarte Does Infographics In Real Life

The average person comes across 200 infographics a day. Just kidding - that's not a real statistic, but the point is that these bite-sized nuggets of pretty knowledge are everywhere. Whether discussing the history of rickrolling or just trying to figure out itself (how meta!) you can pretty much find an infographic on every website. It's pretty exhausting.

So, we were thrilled to find Colombian photographer Jose Duarte's real-life infographics, a portfolio of photos of in-real-life items documenting internet stats. Not only are these photos button cute but they're actually filled with some great info. There are 32 million internet users in China, you say? Lady Gaga trumps President Obama, Newsweek and Al Gore in Twitter followers? Well, huh. The more you know.

See more of the collection over at Geekosystem.

LeBron Discussion Heats Up: Skip Bayless Berates Chris Broussard

Skip Bayless eats your opinions for dinner. Then he digests them and makes sure that you never get to see them again.

Look, Skip Bayless is like any other columnist, pundit or talking head. He makes a living out of having a very strong opinion. The main reason that he is so hated is that he can't stand anyone else's take on a specific subject.

He also happens to have some fairly ridiculous takes as well.

Well, on Monday's episode of a 1st and 10, Skip Bayless squared off on Chris Broussard over the topic of LeBron James.

Stuff gets mighty interesting at around the three-miute mark. That is where Skip Bayless rolls his eyes, and Chris Broussard almost pops a blood vessel.

The whole time Broussard is defending his objectivity over LeBron James, and Skip is yelling that Chris is a James-lover.

All the while I question two men who are arguing over a silly athlete like they were knee deep into a Civil War re-enactment. At one point, I felt like paying $59.95. This was the best fight I had seen in years.

Rest assured that the two have most likely made up. Skip Bayless looks like a man who understands the power of sending some flowers, or so I just made up.

Snooki Crashes Into Italian Police Car During 'Jersey Shore' Filming (VIDEO)

Did Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi forget that she wasn't driving a bumper car on the 'Jersey Shore' boardwalk or does she need to have another go at driver's ed?

We think it might be a combination of the two but after her vehicle collided with a police car -- which was acting as the 'Shore' crew's escort vehicle -- on Monday, Snooki seems to be off the hook. The pint-sized reality star filled out an accident report at an Italian police station and was then free to go, according to People and GMA (weekdays, 7AM on ABC).

A male and female police officer who were inside the escort vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital but both Snooki and fellow 'Shore' girl and passenger, Deena Cortese, refused any medical attention. Other than the officers' minor injuries, the fender bender was ultimately just that.

Did Jay Leno Steal Raiders Joke From 'Red Eye'?

Filed under:

The hosts of the late night Fox News political comedy show 'Red Eye' are accusing 'Tonight Show' host Jay Leno and his writing staff of joke-stealing. The joke in question both riffed on a Supreme Court ruling that will force California to release tens of thousands of convicted felons due to prison overcrowding.

'Red Eye's' joke, which Andy Levy told May 24th after reading news of the impending prisoner release, read as follows: "This may actually help the Raiders start selling out their home games again."

Leno's joke, which he told two nights later on May 26th, reacted to the same news with, "But the good news? Looks like the Oakland Raiders will have more season ticket holders." Pretty similar.

Check out the video of both after the jump and tell us if you think Leno ripped off 'Red Eye,' or if they were both just going for obvious punchline and 'Red Eye' got there first.

William Shatner's an Honorary Headbanger at 'Revolver Golden God Awards' (VIDEO)

William Shatner, 'The 3rd Annual Revolver Golden God Awards'When you think of heavy metal and headbangers, who's the first name that come to mind? If you said William Shatner, then you're on the same page as the people behind the 'Revolver Golden God Awards' (Sat., 10PM ET on VH1). The annual hard rock awards bestowed the Honorary Headbanger Award to Shatner, who accepted it with grace and humor.

We were hoping for a little head-banging from the Shat, but the 80-year old simply strode on-stage, gave a short acceptance speech and went on his way. At least he dropped a couple of f-bombs in the speech to add to his cred.

It does keep Shatner's cool factor going, which is more than most people of his age can say. Fans can look forward to his upcoming album, 'Remembering Major Tom,' which features Shatner alongside plenty of legends from all genres of music, including rock.

San Francisco Giants: 5 Young Players Ready to Step Up

There’s a changing of the guard happening right now in San Francisco, whether we wanted it to happen or not.

Last season, the eventual World Series champions were led by a group of past-their-prime 30-year-olds, including Pat Burrell, Aubrey Huff, Aaron Rowand and Juan Uribe.

In 2011 however, injuries to key starters and struggles by some of the aforementioned veterans have sparked a shift in the balance of the team over to the Giants’ youth. What happens the rest of this season and whether the Giants get a shot in the postseason will have a lot to do with how well these young guys do.

Here’s a look at five ballplayers ready to step up.

Insane Ian Parodies Bruno Mars' 'Grenade' with 'Bob-Omb' Video

two girls one up insane ian as mario in bob-omb videoIt's a great week for musical parody! First, Weird Al posted his new Lady Gaga parody, and now Insane Ian -- a geeky gamer answer to Weird Al -- has put out a new Mario-themed video. Ian's song 'Bob-Omb' is a Nintendo-fied spoof of Bruno Mars' 'Grenade,' starring Ian as Mario.

You may remember Ian's video budget woes from our post about his Kickstarter campaign. Well, good news: the Grand Theft Audio album and videos are now fully funded! The 'Bob-Omb' vid was filmed with zero budget, and I think you'll agree it's quite an impressive play on Bruno Mars' vid.

Keep on geekin' on, Insane Ian! Can't wait to see the finished version of DiG DuG!

NBA review: Chicago Bulls take top seed status for play-offs

? Bulls close regular season with ninth straight victory
? San Antonio Spurs lose 106-103 to the Phoenix Suns

Kyle Korver scored 19 points as the Chicago Bulls closed the regular season with their ninth straight victory, beating the New Jersey Nets 97-92. The Bulls had to wait for San Antonio's result to see who would be seeded No1 for the play-offs ? with the Spurs' loss to Phoenix earning them home-court advantage.

Joakim Noah finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds to help the Bulls finish 62-20, equalling their best showing since the 1997-98 championship season. They begin their play-off campaign against the Indiana Pacers.

Suns 106, Spurs 103

Marcin Gortat had 21 points and 13 rebounds as Phoenix denied San Antonio their chance to secure home-court advantage throughout the play-offs. The Spurs, who at 61-21 finished a game behind Chicago for the best record in the NBA, lost Manu Ginobili to injury early in the game. San Antonio will open against Memphis in the play-offs.

Lakers 116, Kings 108, OT

Lakers star Kobe Bryant scored 36 points and forced overtime with a tying three-pointer with 4.8 seconds left in regulation, as the Kings lost what might be their last game in Sacramento. A standing-room only crowd packed the 17,317-seat capacity arena, clanking cow bells and roaring louder than they had in years. With the team mulling a move to Anaheim, fans brought handmade signs and cheered their loudest to will the team back. Instead, the Lakers pulled away in overtime to take the No2 seed in the Western Conference, setting up a first-round series against New Orleans. Marcus Thornton had 33 points and Tyreke Evans added 16 for the Kings.

Heat 97, Raptors 79

Eddie House scored a career-high 35 points and Juwan Howard added 18 as Miami beat Toronto. With the Heat assured of the second seed in the East, Miami's coach, Erik Spoelstra, rested LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Miami will host Philadelphia in its post-season opener. House's previous career best was 31, set against Utah on 18 November 2005. He was seven of 13 from three-point range. The Heat have won four straight and 15 of 18 heading into the play-offs. Jerryd Bayless scored 21 points for Toronto.

Celtics 112, Knicks 102

At Boston, Avery Bradley scored a career-high 20 points to help Boston's "B'' team beat New York's second string. Glen "Big Baby" Davis had 17 points and eight rebounds, and Sasha Pavlovic added a season-high 19 points as the Celtics ended a two-game losing streak. Amare Stoudemire played 20 minutes and scored 14 points for New York.

Magic 92, Pacers 74

Ryan Anderson scored 14 points, and Dwight Howard had 13 points and 13 rebounds in a short night in Orlando's victory over Indiana. Mike Dunleavy and Brandon Rush both scored 16 points for Indiana. The Pacers will open their first play-off series in five years against top-seeded Chicago, while the Magic will host Atlanta in a match-up of the fourth and fifth seeds.

Clippers 110, Grizzlies 103

Blake Griffin had 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the 82nd and final game of his spectacular rookie season for Los Angeles. Griffin sat out all 82 games last season after hurting his knee in the final pre-season game and having surgery. He was the only player to appear in every game this season when injuries plagued the team. Eric Gordon added 24 points and DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Los Angeles. The Clippers finished 32-50 to miss the playoffs again.

Mavericks 121, Hornets 89

Dirk Nowitzki scored 12 of his 32 points in the decisive third quarter, leading Dallas past New Orleans. Dallas wound up No 3 in the Western Conference and will face Portland in the opening round. New Orleans hung on to the seventh spot because Memphis also lost. The Hornets will face the Lakers. Jarrett Jack led New Orleans with 22 points.

Warriors 110, Trail Blazers 86

Reggie Williams scored 28 points, and Stephen Curry had 18 points and nine assists in Golden State's victory over Portland. Dorell Wright had 20 points to cap a breakout season for the veteran forward and David Lee added 13 points for the Warriors. Patty Mills had a career-high 23 points and Wesley Matthews added 18 points for Portland, which already had secured the No6 seed in the Western Conference.

Bucks 110, Thunder 106, OT

Brandon Jennings scored 16 points as Milwaukee beat Oklahoma City. Jennings outscored the Thunder 8-2 in the final 2:21, hitting the go-ahead reverse layup with 56.8 seconds left and then hitting two free throws to put the game away. Russell Westbrook scored 20 points and Kevin Durant added 14 in a season-low 23 minutes as the Thunder gave their starters a lightened load with the playoffs looming. Oklahoma City will be the No4 seed in the Western Conference and open against Denver.

Jazz 107, Nuggets 103

At Salt Lake City, rookie Gordon Hayward scored a career-high 34 points and hit five three-pointers to lift Utah past play-off-bound Denver. The game meant little to the Nuggets, who already had secured the Western Conference's No5 seed and rested many of their players. Wilson Chandler led the Nuggets with 27 points.

Bobcats 96, Hawks 85

Gerald Henderson scored 20 points, and DJ Augustin added 17 points and seven assists as Charlotte sent Atlanta into the play-offs on a six-game losing streak. With no starter playing more than 25 minutes and only Kirk Hinrich (10 points) scoring in double figures, the coach, Larry Drew, earned the Hawks rest, but no momentum heading into their first-round game at Orlando.

Pistons 104, 76ers 100

Rodney Stuckey scored 29 points, and Tayshaun Prince had 14 to help Detroit hand play-off-bound Philadelphia its fifth loss in six games. Jrue Holiday led the 76ers with 21 points. They will open the play-offs against Miami.

Cavaliers 100, Wizards 93

At Cleveland, Ramon Sessions scored 27 points and JJ Hickson added 15 as Cleveland closed out one of the worst seasons in franchise history and the first in eight years without LeBron James. The Cavs finished 19-63, an extreme drop after going a league-best 61-21 during the regular season in 2010. Andray Blatche scored 20 for Washington.

Rockets 121, Timberwolves 102

At Minneapolis, Chase Budinger scored a career-high 35 points and Kevin Martin added 25 for Houston. Michael Beasley scored 34 points and Anthony Randolph had 23 for Minnesota. The Timberwolves lost their last 15 games of the season to finish with the worst record in the NBA at 15-65.

Brock Lesnar Undergoes Successful Surgery; Expected to Return in 2012

Brock Lesnar: Originally Scheduled to Fight on the Main Event of UFC 131 Undergoes Surgery

Bleacher Report's Mike Hodges:

According to MMAJunkie.com, Brock Lesnar underwent successful surgery to repair his second bout with diverticulitis. It is expected for the former UFC heavyweight champion to make a return in early 2012.

UFC president Dana White said that Lesnar had 12 inches of his colon removed during the surgery, and will have to recover for the rest of the year. White said he expects Lesnar to make his return next year.

"He said he's a little sore, but the operation was a huge success," White said during the UFC 130 telecast.

White added that Lesnar visited the Mayo Clinic last Thursday to go over some options for his recovery.

"He's going to make some decisions as to what he's going to do, but he's in a good place right now,"

Lesnar was originally scheduled to face Junior dos Santos in the main event at UFC 131, after their coaching stint on The Ultimate Fighter, but was struck with the illness for a second time in his career.

Lesnar first contracted diverticulitis in 2009 during a hunting trip in Canada.

Lesnar made some changes to his diet and overall lifestyle in order to prevent from contracting the illness again, and returned to the UFC the following year.

Jim Tressel Resigns: Is Ohio State Headed for USC-Like Sanctions?

Jim Tressel Resigns Before Meeting with NCAA Infractions Committee in August

Jim Tressel stepped down as head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday.

At first, it appeared Tressel was headed for a standoff with the NCAA infractions committee in August regarding knowingly withholding information about players selling memorabilia last season.

He had also just hired former NCAA Committee on Infractions chairman Gene Marsh to stand beside him in August.

But Tressel's resignation points to rough waters ahead for Ohio State.

READ MORE: 25 Most Offensive Sports Comments and Gestures Caught on Video

USC was just informed by the NCAA that it faces a two-year postseason ban and the revoking of 30 scholarships for Reggie Bush receiving improper benefits when he was at the school.

Given there are new reports out that a total of 50 cars were allegedly bought by Ohio State football players, Ohio State could very well receive USC-like sanctions when all is said and done.

The NCAA has already launched a separate investigation on Buckeyes QB Terrelle Pryor that threatens to derail his senior season.

What's more, Ohio State has self-imposed suspensions on six players, including Pryor. That's already more players than were involved at USC.

Tressel saw what was ahead and fled, it's that simple.

You can only fight the current for so long before you realize you're still going downstream.

2011 NFL Free Agency: 20 Players Who Could End Up in Surprising Places

When it comes to any NFL story in the past month, it is usually one of three things.  It is a story about the latest and greatest update on the Collective Bargaining Agreement from the steps outside the courthouse, to what location a team is holding informal workouts to stay in shape, or a quick speculation story on where a potential free agent will land.  Outside of that not much else is going on.

Most of the free agent updates focus on the top tier of free agency and usually are restricted to only the upper echelon teams, as if the other NFL teams don't exist.

However, just like the NFL draft is full of surprises, free agency can have its' own degree of surprises and that is what we are going to speculate on.  Who are the free agents that could really create a surprise by joining a team that hardly anybody is talking about as a viable option.

Since this is purely speculation, we are going to use some reasonable logic on most, and some may be a gut feeling.

In 2009, I don't think many people would have predicted free agent Terrell Owens joining the Buffalo Bills but it happened anyway.  In 2010, it was considered a surprise when free agent LaDainian Tomlinson signed with the New York Jets, when other teams were offering him a bigger role and more money.

What are the likelihood of these 20 surprises happening?  Hard to say, just remember they are all long shots.

Power Ranking the Top 10 Offensive Players in Detroit Lions History

The Detroit Lions don't exactly have a long history of success as an NFL team, but it isn't for a lack of star power over the years.

Rather, the Lions have taken a lot of stars over the years and hung them out to dry as a lack of supporting cast prevented the team from any lasting success.

A Lions fan of any reasonable amount of time has seen an example of this. A massively talented athlete held back by the inability of his teammates to perform competently? That is downright commonplace in Motown.

Still, those players who posted big numbers are deserving of some recognition. Lions players have lit up the scoreboard over the years, and the fact that many of them did it without good teams surrounding them makes them that much more impressive.

This list is the result of the research and opinion of one person, so I fully expect that I will miss at least one player that should have been listed. But hey, that's what the comment box is for, right? Do feel free to supplement my findings here.

So with that, let the debate begin.

Miami Heat surge past Bulls and into NBA finals

? Dwyane Wade leads team to 83-80 Game Five win
? Chicago stunned as rivals wrap up series 4-1

Ice cold for three quarters of Thursday's Game Five, Dwyane Wade caught fire in the fourth and led Miami to an 83-80 win over Chicago that put the Heat in the NBA finals, where they will meet Dallas.

Wade, hampered by a shoulder injury, turned the ball over nine times and had shot just two-for-eight from the floor before the fourth quarter. Not the sort of performance he wanted to put on in front of his hometown friends and family in Chicago.

Chicago looked set to send the Eastern Conference finals to a Game Six but Wade suddenly found a spark, leading the Heat on an 18-3 run to the buzzer that stunned the Bulls. The MVP of Miami's run to the title in 2006 did not want to blame the injury for his struggles but team-mate LeBron James knew something was wrong.

"Absolutely," said James, who also found his range in the late rally after missing nine shots in a row. "I could see it on his face, but I said 'Just get through it. We need you'. He's one of the best players in this league. Guys like that are gonna find their way through it and he did that late for us."

Wade began finding the range on his jump shot. After hitting two, he flashed past a defender and drove to the hoop for more points. Then came a critical four-point play when he sank a three-pointer and converted a free throw for being fouled in the process. Wade finished with 21 points and said he drew strength from the confidence shown in him by James.

"I'm a person who believes other people give you confidence," Wade told reporters. "When LeBron threw me back the ball after me struggling so much, I thought, 'Well, I've got to make something happen.'"

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Wade was simply special. "He's got something different, a different makeup inside of him," the coach said. "He's able to rise to the occasion. He may have struggled for a game, or parts of a game, but when it's winning time, there's really not many players that are better than him in the last two minutes."

Boston Bruins: Fortune Favors the Bold

For the Boston Bruins it would have been simple to sit back and hope for a better 2010-'11 NHL hockey season after losing in a Game 7 to the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

But that's not how general manager Peter Chiarelli envisioned his offseason.

Chiarelli got busy on the phones making trades, letting unrestricted free agents walk, and having a certain vision for this season.

Chiarelli deserves credit for trading Dennis Wideman, along with a first and a third round pick for Nathan Horton and Greg Campbell. Two of the most integral parts of Boston's post season success this year.

Even more impressive was the turnover in players between last season and this season.

Out were players like Vladimir Sobotka, Miro Satan, Blake Wheeler, Marco Sturm and Mark Stuart. Most were quality trades acquiring pieces to the puzzle that have worked out perfectly in the eyes of Bruins fans.

In were some quality depth players like Rich Peverley and Chris Kelly, along with puck-moving defenseman Tomas Kaberle, acquired though another trade by Chiarelli.

In the last two seasons roughly 14 players have either been added or removed from the Bruins roster. Some seriously bold moves by Chiarelli have been made.

Fortune has favored the bold this time.

As the Bruins look forward to their Stanley Cup Finals appearance versus the Vancouver Canucks, one thing is for certain.

Chiarelli has done a masterful job of building a winning team for years to come.

Baby Deer Is Just The Right Size For This Doggy Door

Baby deer, that door isn't for you, but you come on in whenever you want because you are just too cute to turn away!

If you can believe it, this little baby deer has decided to squeeze through a tiny door made for cats and wanders into a house made for people and pets of a smaller, more domesticated nature.

If this cute little deer happened to wander into my house I would struggle with not keeping him forever and showering him with baby deer luxuries. None of that watching out for cars and running away from vicious hunters for him.

Of course, I would have to talk myself out of this idea; they are wild animals after all. But the dream lives on in this video of my perfect world, a world where man and deer can set aside their differences and coexist peacefully.

Jane Seymour Apologizes for Speculating About Schwarzenegger Scandal (VIDEO)

Jane Seymour on 'The View'At the premiere of her new film 'Love, Marriage, Wedding,' Jane Seymour found herself speculating about the break-up of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. She said she thought Schwarzengger was father to at least two more out-of-wedlock children, and predicted more information would soon surface. Friday on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), Seymour apologized for the remarks, and said she hoped she didn't add to the family's pain.

"I am so beyond sorry and appalled that I found myself even talking on the subject at all," said Seymour. "I just feel so badly for Maria and the children because I've been through similar kinds of stuff."

Jeff Conaway, TV and Film Star, Dies at 60

jeff conaway dead
Actor Jeff Conaway, best known for his television and movie roles in 'Taxi,' 'Babylon 5' and 'Grease,' died Friday at age 60, RadarOnline.com reports and The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The news comes just a day after reports that the star would be taken off life support.

Radar calls it "the end a long, sad road of addiction that made him one of Hollywood's cautionary tales." Conaway, known for his roles as Bobby Wheeler on 'Taxi' and T-Bird Kenickie in 'Grease,' was a New York native whose brutal battles with substance abuse came to define the latter decades of his fame.

Conaway was checked into an LA hospital on May 11. As of May 26, he was reported to have been experiencing no brain activity. A source told Radar that Conaway's feeding tube had been removed as of Thursday afternoon and that "Jeff is in no pain whatsoever."

Olympic 'gift' could make British hoop dreams a reality | London 2012

Basketball set to enjoy post-Games boom time if GB teams can secure wildcard entry to London 2012 from Fiba

After more than two decades of slow burn, the National Basketball Association believe next year's London Olympics could light the blue touchpaper for the sport in Britain. There are many, from an organising committee flogging tickets to a government hoping to boost participation ? not to mention the international and domestic federations in charge of the sport ? who hope they are right.

As their impeccably marketed circus rolled into London on Friday for the first regular-season NBA games to be played in Europe, two back-to-back ties between the Toronto Raptors and the New Jersey Nets at the O2 Arena, the organisation's deputy commissioner and chief operating officer insisted next summer's Games would have a huge impact. "It's not going to happen overnight. But the Olympics could ignite much broader interest in the game. For people here to see the best in the world play in Olympic competition will, I think, be a life-changing event," says Adam Silver.

It is easy to become inured to grand pronouncements about global growth, and there are already more than enough legacy hopes pinned on next summer's Olympics, but the NBA and the International Basketball Federation (Fiba) are convinced the Games will be a pivotal moment. The basketball arena on the Olympic Park is a temporary structure, but British Basketball harbour ambitions of moving into the Handball Arena and making it a permanent home for the sport in east London. Beyond 2012, there are embryonic plans to bid for the EuroBasket tournament in 2015 or 2017.

Ever since London won the right to host the Games, basketball has been flagged up as the sort of sport that will drive a virtuous circle of increased participation and better elite performance. It requires comparatively little space or equipment, is suited to urban areas and is popular with both sexes. But harnessing its potential has proved more difficult, with the past two decades littered with attempts to establish a competitive national league and boost performance on the European and world stage. The latest push could yet be derailed by Fiba, who will meet in Lyon a week today to decide whether to gift Team GB one of 12 places at the Games.

Basketball is unusual in that the host nation is not guaranteed a place but depends on the federation awarding it a wildcard. Fiba's general secretary, Patrick Baumann, accepts the British teams deserve to be gifted a place in "sporting terms" despite the fact neither would qualify by merit. But there are wider concerns and Fiba need to be convinced over legacy plans beyond the Games.

"We will be looking at the performance of the team on court. The main objective is to be competitive," Baumann says. "The second aspect is what is going to happen after the Games, how the associations' efforts will be continued. Will the British team exist after the Games? Will it be resurrected only for 2016? How will this country become a basketball country?"

On Friday, in a match that seemed to make more impression on the sold-out crowd as an experience than a sport, the Nets defeated the Raptors 116-103. Last night the Nets needed three overtimes before winning 137-136 to complete the double. Eleven NBA teams have played nine matches in the UK and Silver insists these games were part of an "evolution" designed to see a "European division" established. While acknowledging there are logistical and commercial hurdles to overcome, he foresees a handful of European teams playing in state of the art arenas within a decade.

"One of the things that held the league back until recently is you didn't have these American-style arenas and visions that, economically, can allow you now to make sense out of games like this," says Tim Leiweke, chief executive of AEG, the US sports giant that operates the O2 and has a share in the Los Angeles Lakers. "We have an economic model that can work for the league, but we need six or eight of these in the right markets."

It is easy to believe a combination of US commercial nous and the Olympic spirit could provide a defining moment for British basketball. Whether that feeling persists once the glitter cannons have been put away, the NBA teams have gone home and the hard slog in building the profile of the game resumes may depend on the decision reached in Lyon.

UFC 130 Results: Brian Stann vs. Jorge Santiago

The crowd started off the fight chanting ?U-S-A!? for former Marine Corps captain, Brian Stann on this Memorial Day weekend battle against Jorge Santiago.

Santiago surprisingly didn?t take the fight to the ground and paid the price. Stann landed a nice left hook to the jaw of Santiago and dropped him. Stann went for the finish but was unable to do so, and Santiago escaped the first round very wobbly.

In the second round though, Stann was able to land that knockout power. Stann had a nice counter right hand that dropped Santiago to the mat and took advantage and started throwing bombs and took out the eighth ranked middleweight by TKO in the second round.

So now the former Marine gets a huge victory that could very well see him enter the top ten middleweights. Santiago though, the hype from coming over is now gone, and its back to the drawing board for the former Sengoku champion.

The Inspirational Speech America Needs (The One)

dog riding monkey guy gives speechIf you're a diehard Urlbot you probably already know about the monkeys that ride dogs and herd goats at minor league baseball games, but unless you watched seven minutes into the YouTube video, you probably missed the important speech trainer Tim "Wild Thang" Lepard made. Don't worry, though, because someone's put together a video of just his speech and it's getting a lot of attention.

It makes perfect sense, honestly. It's like I've always said: if you're gonna take advice from somebody in this world, it should be a man who owns an American flag pickup truck and a bunch of tiny saddles.

Mike Tyson on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'Boxer Mike Tyson's had a varied career since retiring from the ring and now he's added another string to his bow: 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant. (That's 'Dancing With the Stars' Argentina, in case you were wondering.)

And on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC) Tyson provided an exuberant commentary for a video clip of himself dancing on the Argentine show.

When the clip started, he leapt up out of his chair, took off his jacket and gave an excited play-by-play that kept the person with their finger on the ABC censor button real busy.

When host Jimmy Kimmel asked Tyson if he'd perform his signature "pelvic thrust" move in person, Tyson laughed and said "Not for free!"

UFC 130 Fight Card: Is Frank Mir Still a Relevant Heavyweight?

About two and a half years ago, Frank Mir was walking around with the UFC interim heavyweight championship belt around his waist. Things have certainly changed as we head into the UFC 130.

Now fighting in the semi-main event against Roy Nelson, Mir is no longer the champion. In fact, he may not even be a contender. Some would even venture to say that he’s hardly even a relevant heavyweight in 2011.

However, I’m not one of those people. I believe that at 32 years old, Frank Mir still has a lot left to give to the sport and that he can still be a contender given the right set of circumstances. But it all starts this Saturday night when he fights the big-bellied, mulleted former IFL heavyweight champion, Roy Nelson.

A quick look at Mir’s career would tell you that, like many fighters, he has had his ups and downs.

Mir ran up a 7-1 MMA record that included an impressive and painful-looking submission over Tank Abbott at UFC 41 prior to his first title shot against Tim Sylvia at UFC 48. It was that fight against Sylvia that really put Mir on the heavyweight map for good.

An underdog against the monstrous champion at the time, Mir also conceded well over 30 pounds to the “Maine-iac.” But it didn’t matter as Mir not only won the fight and became the new champion, but also broke Sylvia’s arm in the process in one of the most memorable and horrific-looking Octagon submissions of all-time.

The new champion was flying high and looked to be on a path to long-term greatness when a horrible motorcycle accident caused him to be sidelined for an extended period of time and subsequently stripped of his title.

Mir eventually returned, but looked awful in three straight fights against Marcio Cruz, Dan Christison and Brandon Vera. It looked as if an outside injury had caused the end of yet another mixed martial arts career.

A re-commitment to the sport helped Mir spring back with a victory over Antoni Hardonk at UFC 74 before he surprised nearly everyone with his submission over the debuting Brock Lesnar at UFC 81 in February 2008. Later that year, Mir would be crowned the UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion when he became the first man to ever stop the legendary Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 92.

Unfortunately, his title run would be short-lived once again as he was dominated by Brock Lesnar in their rematch at UFC 100.

Since that night, Mir has not looked like the same fighter that we saw have an impressive three-fight win streak in 2007-2008. Yes, he defeated an overrated Cheick Kongo and even knocked out Mirko Cro Cop, but his punishing loss to Shane Carwin may be what many fans will remember most about Mir’s last three fights.

Brendan Schaub recently proved that, at this point, any relevant heavyweight should be able to defeat Mirko Cro Cop, so it’s hard to give Mir too much credit for his uncharacteristically boring defeat of the former Pride superstar.

It’s time for Mir to get back in the cage against a top 10 opponent, and Roy Nelson is just that.

The UFC 130 semi main event will be a huge fight for both of these men as Nelson looks to climb into the UFC’s elite for the first time while Mir attempts to get back there. Neither fighter is going to go out without a fight and this is expected by most to be the kind of heavyweight slugfest that fans dream about.

With the looming potential of an “invasion” of the Strikeforce heavyweight division, the time for Frank Mir to make a statement is right now. He needs this win over Roy Nelson to prove that not only is he relevant, but he is still a top contender for Cain Velasquez’s UFC heavyweight championship going forward.
