Arsenal FC: Arsene Wenger Says He Will Not Be Selling Any of His Young Talent

After a week where Arsene Wenger has seen his young stars get a lot of praise, the Arsenal manager has said that he will not be selling any of his young talent.

Wenger is a firm believer that with the team he has now and the talent that he has put together, Arsenal is on the verge of shocking the world of football.

Arsenal has a plethora of talent in there squad that is just about ready to prove to world what Wenger has been talking about all along. With players in the midfield such as Alex Song, Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshere, Andrei Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby and Denilson, there are very few teams with that many solid options.

With rumors now surfacing once again about Fabregas being on his way out to either Real Madrid or Barcelona, Wenger said, "We need Fabregas. Believe me. He is a special player. He is exceptional and we want to keep them all.''

What if Wenger was confronted with an extremely lucrative offer for one of his stars, would he then consider selling?

"We go for all the competitions because we have the players to cope. We have the quality and the numbers. We are in a position where we can say no for financial reasons. We don't need finances. People reproach me, saying 'Why do you not spend stupid money?' Now they reproach me and say, 'Why do you not sell the player?' That makes me think we have not worked too bad.''

Arsene also spoke about how difficult it is to keep the roster happy and attempt to divide playing time amongst all the players. Being involved in four competitions still, this campaign has allowed Wenger to distribute playing time.

"It is difficult to keep them happy. A player that does not play is never happy. You need the right balance. If you have too many players it is demotivating for the players never involved. If you have not enough it is demotivating because they feel too secure. Competition is part of our job," said Wenger.

Wenger spoke about his contentment with the maturity Arsenal showed at the Emirates on Wednesday against Barcelona.

"The interesting comparison is that the average age of Barcelona was 27.4 and our average age was 23.2. That means there are four years difference between the two teams on the maturity side and four years at that level is absolutely huge. We are where we want to be and we hope we can deliver trophies this season."

With Jack Wilshere getting a big part of the headlines this week, Wenger says, "Jack is good in the defensive box and good in the offensive box. We are used to players being only strong on one side more than the other. He can have both. You can go into a fight with him. Sometimes it can be too much at the start but I like this side of his character. He is committed, he will fight for the cause and he will not hide.''

Wenger has stayed true to his philosophy for many years now and it appears that all the stars and fire power he was convinced he has had all along, is now ready to show the world he was right.

With Arsenal's squad flourishing with young talent, a financial situation that looks absolutely outstanding and the Financial Fair Play rule coming into effect, all signs point to Arsenal FC being able to be a very serious giant in the football world very soon.
