Modern day inventions like the washer/dryer, vacuum cleaner and refrigerator make everyday living easier -- and sometimes safer -- compared to the inconvenient, archaic lifestyles our prehistoric ancestors led. But sometimes, contemporary creations are far more problematic than they are useful.

For example, Reddit user PicklePotato highlighted one of the most annoying, hair pull-inducing inventions to date: The shower faucet.

Another Reddit user threw his fist up and cursed the gods due to his frustration with your typical volume control adjustments.

Well, I've got some of my own.

Microwaves don't work.

Stoplights don't work.

Dishwashers don't work.

Thermostats work then don't work then work then don't work.
