Wrestlinginc.com is reporting that former TNA X-Division champ Shawn Davari aka Sheik Abdul Bashir, has re-signed with TNA.
He is expected to make his return during an upcoming Impact taping.
The WWE cast-off really made a name for himself in TNA. However, in 2009, he asked for and was granted a release from the fledgling company. Since his departure, Davari has wrestled for several independents including Ring of Honor.
Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come as he was a staple for the X-Division. TNA could really benefit from a feud featuring Davari and current X-Division champ Kaz. This would really give the company a nice shot in the arm, especially after the recent problems that its current roster has been dealing with.
Just in case you have been living under a rock, here is a recap of TNA's recent problems.
First, Jeff Hardy caused the shortest, most controversial pay-per-view main event in the company's history. Also, TMZ reported this weekend that Kurt Angle was arrested for being under the influence while in a vehicle.
Essentially, TNA has seen way too much negative press lately and needs to pull themselves out of the rubble. And quick.
So let me know what you think. Will this addition help TNA, or will he be just another misused talent?
