Aaron Douglas Tragedy: New Information Update

Aaron Douglas Tragedy Update:

Here is the latest news on the untimely and tragic death of Alabama offensive lineman Aaron Douglas.

Apparently Douglas had a history of personal problems, including drinking, but there has still not been much light shed on the reason of his death.

Douglas was apparently out partying until 2am the night of his death though. The Daily Mail Online reports more details surrounding the situation.

Alabama offensive lineman Aaron Douglas, 21, had been for a meal with friends before he hired a taxi to drive him to Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday evening.

Two young women, who have not been identified, stopped the car and invited the talented sportsman to a nearby party.

He partied until at least 2am and was found dead on a second floor balcony at a home in Fernandina Beach, Florida, at around 8am on Thursday morning.

Fernandina Beach police chief James T. Hurley said that it was a 'guess' that the player died from an accidental alcohol and drugs overdose.

'That would be the preliminary guess,' Hurley said. 'But it's just a guess. There was no obvious trauma or cause of death that was obvious to us, nothing that would be fatal. It's a suspicion at this point.'

Witnesses said Douglas arrived at the party between 11 and 11:30 p.m on Wednesday evening.

He was seen at the 2,760-square-foot single-family house as late as 2 a.m. before a male resident and others discovered him 'apparently dead' on the balcony Thursday morning.

Douglas was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner's office is investigating the cause of death. A police report has not yet been made available.

As you can see, the preliminary reports are that Douglas died of an accidental alcohol and drug overdose, but there is still not official report.

I will be keeping my eye on the situation and when anything official comes out I will make sure to pass it on to our readers at Bleacher Report.

Once again I want to reiterate that our condolences go out to all those involved in this tragedy, and we will be working hard to keep our readers informed on the situation.
