NFL Rumors: Will Al Davis Break the Bank to Keep Nnamdi Asomugha?

NFL Rumors Say Multiple Teams Interested in Nnamdi Asomugha

The free agent market has a lot of well known players. Some are really good at their position, and others are the best. Nnamdi Asomugha is the best available cornerback on the market, and several teams want him.

The obvious landing spot for Asomugha is the Oakland Raiders simply because Al Davis will cut a fat check to keep his Pro Bowl corner. However, would Asomugha want to return to a mediocre team?

The Cowboys, Texans, Buccaneers, Eagles, Ravens, Jets and Redskins are all teams in play for Asomugha. Those are just a few teams with strong chances to land him, but just about every team in need of secondary help may give him an offer.

Of those teams his likely destination would be the Cowboys, Eagles, Ravens or Jets. All of them are winners, which is what Asomugha wants to do. He would be taking less money be signing with one of them, unless Oakland agreed to a sign and trade with someone.

Maybe a Asomugha for Kevin Kolb type of deal? That could work, but I don't see it happening.

In the end I believe Asomugha will stay in Oakland because it will be the most money. How can you turn down a super fat pay check? Oakland isn't too terrible. They're getting better as a team, but I still don't see them making the playoffs.
