WWE Breaking News: Undertaker Retired? Only 1 More Match?

We are all aware that The Undertaker is not in the greatest shape, as his age and injuries over the years have taken a toll on his body. However, with recent rumors that he is was scheduled to join the Raw roster upon his return, many of us have expected him to return to the ring at some time during the year.

A recent report by Ryan Clark posted on several websites, including ewrestlingnews.com and prowrestlingscoops.com, claims that The Undertaker is considered retired by WWE personnel.

The report states that The Undertaker is in far worse shape than originally reported. WWE officials are not ruling out a match at WrestleMania 28, which will be held in Miami, but are not expecting The Undertaker to compete until then. The report also states that many people close to The Undertaker are talking to him about retiring at WrestleMania.

While it should come as no surprise to hear that The Undertaker is in rough shape, we must wonder what sort of effect sitting out for a whole year will potentially have on what would likely be his final match at next year's WrestleMania. With The Undertaker only wrestling two matches in approximately two and a half years, what sort of build-up or storyline would make sense and effectively work as another headline for WrestleMania?

With no matches on Raw or SmackDown to build-up the potential WrestleMania match, we would likely see another situation like we saw this past year with Triple H.  But who would be able to sustain a fed with The Undertaker without any matches?

A Triple H rematch is not out of the question, but Kane is likely the top choice. With the history between the two, the potential storyline and the fact that it could be The Undertaker's last match, Kane seems to fit the spot best.

However, nothing is confirmed. The Undertaker has been known to work while in pain before, but it seems like we may only see him step into the ring one more time.
