World Football: Five Players Real Madrid Needed Instead of Emmanuel Adebayor

Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Real Madrid on loan for the remainder of the La Liga season. With Los Blancos having the option to retain his services in the future. The Togolese striker has great size and pace; however, Adebayor has yet prove he has the goal scoring prowess on the biggest stages of world football.

He has caused controversy everywhere he has been, most notably demanding more money from Arsene Wenger and falling out of first team football and fighting with Roberto Mancini at Manchester City.

With Madrid's defensive struggles so far this season, they felt it was a necessity to sign a big name striker on loan than securing their woes in the back line. This was primarily due to an injury to Gonzalo Higuain and continued turmoil with Karim Benzema up front.

Here are some players who could offer an immediate impact and sure up the back without disrupting team continuity and chemistry in the process.
