NFL Lockout: What Concessions Should NFL Players Make to End the Lockout?

Is the NFLPA asking for too much?

Nothing worse than a group of millionaires being told by a federal judge that their billionaire employers are the ones who are being greedy and shady.

The worst thing that could have happened to the NFLPA is being told they were in the right and that the owners couldn?t tap into their $4 billion war chest.

So now we?re at a standstill and the NFLPA seems to reluctant to give in. As if that judgement by Doty has made them think they shouldn?t have to give in.

If there is going to be football, and the NFLPA better hope there is(it?s never a good idea to anger the people that really pay your bills: the fans) then they are going to have to give in just a little bit. That might mean making the kinds of concessions that they have vowed not to make.

They need to allow the NFL to give five years of their financial records. The NFLPA has been adamant about seeing their books for the last decade but let?s be real: a lot has changed in the last ten years and the NFL?s financial state is far different. Five years should be more than enough.

And, whether they like it or not, the owners want more money and the NFLPA is going to have to live with that. Giving them a billion extra off the top but not have to play 18, increasing payroll and helping retirees benefits should be a victory for the players.

The longer this drags on the worse it is for everyone. And I don?t know about you but I?m tired of the five minute updates that tell me that everyone still hates everyone. At the very least I?d like to see someone more entertaining deliver the news. Everyone else has sponsors and guest stars, why can?t the labor talks.

I?ll give the NFLPA $100 right now if they find a way to get Charlie Sheen as their press conference spokesperson. At that point I would wish the Lockout to go on FOREVER.
