Tim Tebow, Wes Leonard and the NFL labor talks are front and center on the sports headlines on this late Friday afternoon, and for good reason. It hasn't been the busiest news day to this point, but there is certainly plenty to talk about as far as these three topics are concerned.
Tim Tebow and the NFL labor talks more or less go hand-in-hand, as both concern the looming lockout for the 2011 NFL season. Fresh off his rookie campaign with the Denver Broncos, Tebow has gone on record saying that he wouldn't take it as a sign that he can rest. He aims to carry on with his workouts.
As far as the labor talks go, word came out not too long ago that the NFL and the NFL Players' Association have agreed to a seven-day extension of the collective bargaining agreement.
Depending on who you ask, this could be seen as a sign that they are much closer to an agreement than they have been in recent weeks. But there are still plenty of issues to be worked out, so don't get your hopes up quite yet.
Lastly, there's the Wes Leonard story, which might be the most tragic story from the sports world so far in 2011.
Leonard, a 16-year-old basketball star for Fennville High in Fennville, Michigan, collapsed shortly after hitting a game-winning basket on Thursday, and was pronounced dead a short while later. His cause of death has just been announced within the last hour.
