Jacob Tudela's Pali Blues could have done better by earning a full six points, but the good news for the club is that they remain unbeaten. They could use some points, though.
On Thursday, Pali fought to a scoreless draw with the Colorado Force. Forward Jessica Pride had three shots on goal for the Blues. However, they were unfortunate to not figure out Force goalkeeper Hannah Clark, who made six saves on the day.
Just like last weekend against the Northwest sides, the Blues followed a draw with a win. On Saturday, Pali defeated the Colorado Rush 2-1. Mariah Nogueira, sister of WPS standout Casey Nogueira, and Elizabeth Eddy scored for Pali, while Hannah Peterson took one back for the Rush.
With the results, Pali moves into third with a 4-0-3 record (15 points), four points adrift of the first-place Santa Clarita Blue Heat and one point behind second place Vancouver Whitecaps.
A grueling stretch awaits Pali Blues, with three games in five days.
On Wednesday, June 22, Pali travels to Bear Mountain Stadium to take on the Victoria Highlanders. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT.
The Blues will then hope for a winning result against Vancouver at Myrtle Philip Field in Vancouver, British Columbia. Kickoff is scheduled for Friday, June 26 at 5:30 p.m. PT.
Tudela's women will then wrap up their Northwest expedition with a match against the Seattle Sounders at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, June 26 at 3:00 p.m. PT.
