2011 NFL Draft: The Wildcat, Brian Daboll, and Offensive Clarity.

The 2011 NFL Draft has come and gone.

The hiring of Brian Daboll makes complete sense.

Daboll and the Wildcat are interchangeable. All you need to do is look at the Cleveland Brown's offense to catch a glimpse of what the Dolphins may try to do.

Whether you like it or not, the Wildcat offense will be in full force in the 2011 season.

In 2010, Josh Cribbs was the trigger man for the Brown's Wildcat. They created a package for him. However, that meant removing Peyton Hillis and inserting a very capable Cribbs.

I think we've forgotten that Cleveland also utilized the Wildcat. And we wonder why the Miami Dolphins hired Daboll?

Mike Pouncey and Daniel Thomas were drafted to perfect the Wildcat on the NFL level. It's what they did in college. Except Daniel Thomas doesn't need to leave the field like Cribbs.

Thomas is a theoretical upgrade over Ronnie Brown for the Wildcat because he can throw. Thomas has directed two Wildcat offense on the J.C. level and Division I college level.

Now wouldn't it be interesting if the Dolphins re-signed Brown? It's not a bad idea for the front office to bring back another multipurpose target. To have both Brown and Thomas on the field is intriguing.

I personally want Ricky Williams back.

Charles Clay, his offensive skill set is also perfect for the Wildcat. In college he played running back, fullback and tight end. He would line up as the fullback or tight end...in the Wildcat. Watch the video, he was also the trigger man in a one back Wildcat set at Tulsa.

Is there clarity here? I believe so!

I'm assuming that the Dolphins offense will not rotate around the Wildcat (at least I hope not). I think that Daboll is a younger. more brash version of David Lee. I think this offense will be more creative.

While we have no idea of what will become of Brandon Marshall. We do know that Davone Bess fits perfectly into Miami's ability to move the chains and score. We do know that Edmond Gates could be a perfect compliment to Bess and Marshall.

How does Chad Henne fit? The only knowledge we have is that Henne has to compete to start. So, who will he compete with? We don't know. We do know that the front office wants more competition for the quarterback position. Coach Daboll doesn't seem all that excited about Henne.

What next? A Henne trade for Tim Tebow...gulp!

How the Dolphins drafted in 2011, while considering the Dolphins' use of of the Wildcat offense, and the hiring of Daboll makes legitimate sense because the pieces fit so well.

You don't need a draft grade. They mean nothing. Look at the evidence of how the Dolphins assembled their offensive staff, look at their draft. It is logical is it not? Someone please tell me it's all coincidence.

My hope is that the Dolphins develop a creative offense which utilize their entire offensive talent to competitive in 2011. My hope is that the offense depends more on motioning sets, creating mismatches.

My hope is that the 2011 Miami Dolphins are simply more competitive Wildcat or not.
