Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts: May 2, 2011

Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.



Texas at Oakland

Josh Willingham went 2-for-4 with his fifth home run and his 16th RBI. Kurt Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a home run. Andy LaRoche went 2-for-4. It was his third straight game with two hits. Cliff Pennington went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Chris Davis went 2-for-4. Julio Borbon went 2-for-2 with two runs.



San Francisco at Washington

Wilson Ramos went 2-for-3 with a run to raise his average to .375. Aaron Rowand went 2-for-4 to raise his average to .290. Tom Gorzelanny gave up three hits in eight scoreless innings to improve to 1-2 with a 2.93 ERA. Madison Bumgarner took the loss despite giving up just two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings. He has allowed just three runs in 13 innings over his past two starts.



Milwaukee at Atlanta

Alex Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI (13). David Ross went 2-for-4 with a home run. Yuniesky Betancourt went 2-for-3 with two RBI (12). Jair Jurrjens gave up two runs in 7.2 innings to improve to 3-0 with a 1.52 ERA.



New York Yankees at Detroit

Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with an RBI (13). Jorge Posada went 2-for-5 with two RBI (14). Ramon Santiago went 3-for-4 with a run to raise his average to .289. Alex Avila went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs. He’s hitting .309 with five home runs and 21 RBI. Bartolo Colon gave up three runs with seven strikeouts in seven innings but got a no-decision.



Los Angeles Angels at Boston

Maicer Izturis went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Clay Buchholz gave up two runs in six innings to earn the win.



Baltimore at Chicago White Sox

Derrek Lee went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Alex Rios went 2-for-4 with two runs and a homer. Mark Buehrle pitched 6.2 scoreless innings to pick up the win.



Florida at St. Louis

Gaby Sanchez went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI (14) to raise his average to .294. Emilio Bonifacio went 2-for-4 to raise his average to .329. Ryan Theriot went 3-for-5 with a run to raise his average to .317.



Pittsburgh at San Diego

Xavier Paul went 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base. Garrett Jones went 1-for-3 with a home run (6) and two RBI (12). Chris Snyder went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Ryan Ludwick went 2-for-4 with an RBI (13). Jorge Cantu went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. James McDonald gave up two runs on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings for the win.



Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers

Jerry Sands went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Juan Uribe went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
