LeBron James has taken a lot of flack from people this year because of the way that he handled the whole situation with Cleveland and "The Decision," and deservedly so. However, you can't argue with his performance on the court, which is still phenomenal.
Case in point: Miami's Game 2 victory over Boston in the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday night. James had 35 points, seven rebounds and one memorable dunk on Rajon Rondo.
Dwyane Wade gets the ball and passes it up the court to James, who just runs right through poor Rondo and throws it down with authority. It's happened too far away from the basket to say that Rondo was posterized, but he definitely looked like a fool.
I give Rondo credit, though, for standing in there and trying to get a charge called on him. The problem was he didn't actually try to defend James, which gave him an open lane to slam the ball down. Perhaps Rondo was going to use osmosis to keep the ball from going into the basket if his attempt to draw a charge failed.
No matter how you dissect this play, the only thing that matters is that the Heat are two victories away from playing for the eastern conference championship. They have taken it to the Celtics, who are really showing their age, in these first two games.
