'Everything Is A Remix: Kill Bill' Shows Where Tarantino's Inspiration Came From

I love Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill movies, and I knew to some extent that they were inspired by other films, but only a serious movie buff would notice how many clips were shot-for-shot remixes. Kirby Ferguson's video "Everything is a Remix: Kill Bill" (part of his Everything is a Remix series) allows the average movie watcher to see how many scenes were borrowed from other films.

I understand that directors are influenced by other movies they've seen and loved, but these are shot-for-shot homages to the original films. It's almost like Quentin Tartantino said to his cast, "Okay! Now lets do the scene from Samurai Fiction." Regardless of how he crafted each scene, the final product was a stand alone, fantastic flick. Still, it is fun to see where Tarantino's idea's came from all laid out like this.
