There's a new DeMar DeRozan video sweeping across the Internet today. The Raptors' high flying guard delivered a thunderous dunk against the Charlotte Bobcats, as a man who made quite a few slams himself looked on. Michael Jordan.
With 1:09 to play in the third quarter, Raptors point guard Leandro Barbosa dishes to DeRozan at the top of the key. The shooting guard whips around his man and drives to the basket, elevating in the process. He rises over Tyrus Thomas and delivers a massive dunk, drawing a foul in the process.
While this was a big play regardless, it was made even bigger at the point in the game it occurred. The Raptors trailed by just a point, 69-68, and it was the perfect time for a dunk like that.
Perhaps DeRozan, known for his thunderous slams, was just flashing his skills for a legend who made his name dunking like that.
DeRozan finished with 14 points and is averaging 12.8 on the season. However, it wouldn't be enough on Tuesday night, as Toronto lost their fifth game out of their last six, 97-91, to fall to 9-16 on the year. The win was Charlotte's first in a week, and they had lost two straight coming into the clash. Their record improved to 9-15 with the win. Nazr Muhammed led the team with 18 points, while Gerald Wallace scored 16.
