UFC 129 Predictions: Jake Ellenberger Over Sean Pierson on Spike TV

Technically, this bout is still part of the preliminary card, but it's one of two scraps being aired on Spike TV so I'm throwing both in with the big boys.

Plus, Jake "The Juggernaut" Ellenberger deserves some of the spotlight.

The 26-year-old American is coming off three eye-opening victories in the form of a TKO (punches) over Mike "Quicksand" Pyle, a TKO (doctor's stoppage) over John "Doomsday" Howard and a split-decision over Carlos "Ta Danado" Eduardo Rocha. Pyle and Howard are no slouches while the loss Ellenberger handed Rocha was the explosive Brazilian's first in 10 contests.

Sean Pierson is a dangerous, seasoned veteran of the sport at 35 years old. He's also well-rounded?with six wins and four submissions in 11 career victories?and riding an impressive, six-fight win streak of his own.

Finally, the Juggernaut is taking the confrontation on short notice as an injury replacement, so he's got his work cut out for him.

Nevertheless, I think the American wrestler uses his wits and heavy hands to get the win, either by first-round knockout or unanimous decision.
