Brendan Schaub: "I Think I Can Beat Anyone in the Heavyweight Division"

Brendan Schaub continued his climb up the heavyweight division rankings when he stopped Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic via third round TKO at UFC 128 on March 19.

Schaub advanced his record to 8-1 with the victory over Cro Cop and is very close to breaking into the top 10 rankings.

Schaub, recently spoke to MMA:30, telling them, "I think I can beat anyone in the heavyweight division, I can hang with any of those guys."

One of the fights that Schaub would welcome would be against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira on the upcoming UFC card in Brazil. "It would be an honor to fight 'Big Nog' in Brazil," Schaub said. "It would be hostile territory, I think there going to have a (hard) time finding someone to fight him. For me, that would be a great opportunity and a third legend in a row."

The other legend that Schaub references would be Gabriel Gonzaga, who Schaub defeated by unanimous decision in October of last year. Gonzaga was released from his UFC contract after the loss, his second defeat in a row.

Other fights that Schaub would be interested in taking next would be the winner of the upcoming Frank Mir and Roy Nelson fight which will take place at UFC 130. Nelson is the one fighter that Schaub has lost to, falling to "Big Country", via first round knockout at The Ultimate Fighter season 10 finale.

Schaub said he feels that he matches up well with the UFC's heavyweight elite, "I think Junior dos Santos and myself would be a great fight on the feet. With Lesnar, I'm used to training with (Shane) Carwin every day so I'm used to a big body."

In the end Schaub said, "I just want the biggest name."
