'American Idol:' Judges Rocked By Top 9 Elimination Shocker

Talk about a sucker punch! No one saw tonight's second shocking elimination coming, least of all the judges. America's fickle voting patterns are beginning to beg the question: is a popularity contest that skews towards a very select demographic really the best way to identify the most talented performer in the bunch?

Before digging into the drama, let's take a look at how the night unfolded. It was a random hour, all around, with Russell Brand, Iggy Pop, Harvey Levin and the TMZ crew, all in the mix.

The kids shot another slick Ford music video, this time donning black leather jumpsuits for a heist caper. After a rock medley consisting of a "Sweet Home Alabama/"I Love Rock & Roll" mash-up, we were treated to a pre-taped segment with Brand, who oddly enough, didn't get to pimp his "Arthur" remake. Looks, like I just saved him the trouble.
