Masters 2011 Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Unimpressive in Early Masters Action

Masters 2011 Leaderboard Has Tiger Woods With An Average Start to his Masters

Tiger Woods can't even put low numbers up in perfect conditions.

While some may not hit the panic alarm, I am.

Woods is one-over-par through 12 holes, putting him six strokes back of the red-hot Rory McIlroy who has come out of the gate along with a large group of golfers who have taken advantage of great golfing weather at Augusta National.

Tiger only has one birdie on the day to go with two bogeys and honestly, you need to do better than that, especially when you have a track record of owning a course like Woods does. This is another in a long string of performances that show how truly lost he is on the course.

Woods has only hit four of nine fairways and seven of 12 greens in regulation. He's all over the place and that's something you can't do when you're trying to keep pace with people who know how to take advantage of great conditions.

This was a round where Tiger had to come out and set the tone for the rest of his tournament and he can't possibly feel confident in his game after what he's done today. It's not easy to rebuild your swing, but it's even harder to build confidence, something Woods is in desperate need of right now.

Tiger looks like a golfer who has completely lost the magic he used to flash so regularly at major tournaments earlier in his career. If he can't perform well here, what does this mean for the rest of the season?

Color me unimpressed and worried about the future as far as Tiger is concerned. Woods still has a chance to make up some ground, but right now, with the accuracy issues he's having, I don't see a chance of it happening over the final few holes.
