Crystal Mangum Possibly Facing Murder Charges After Allegedly Stabbing Boyfriend
Crystal Mangum, who accused three Duke lacrosse players of rape five years ago, now could be facing murder charges after the man she allegedly stabbed, 46-year-old live-in boyfriend Reginald Daye, died on Wednesday evening.
Mangum, 32, already spent 88 days in jail on three counts of child abuse, injury to personal property and resisting a police officer when she allegedly attacked another former boyfriend, Milton Walker, set his clothes on fire with three children present and told him, "I'm going to stab you [expletive]!" in front of police officers.
Then, on April 3, Mangum allegedly stabbed Daye with a kitchen knife, who was taken to Duke University Hospital afterward.
"I told him she was trouble from the very beginning," a 911 caller reportedly said.
Mangum is currently being held on $300,000 bond.

"More than likely, we will be upgrading our charge to murder, (Durham Police Department Chief Jose) Lopez said.
A man who said he was the victim's cousin reportedly told WTVD, "He was excited, but I told him, 'Man, you know her background. Be careful.'"
Mangum is currently being held on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
