Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley Shows Promise, but Will Most Likely End Predictably
On May 7, Manny Pacquiao will meet up with Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
It has all the glitz and glamor a fight could ask for, two big names and the potential for an upset.
But let's not kid ourselves.
This fight is not going to live up to its two big names.
Mosley is 39 years old now, and Pacquiao hasn't lost since March 2005, a run of 13 straight fights and eight incredible knockouts.
Pacquiao's vying with Floyd Mayweather Jr. to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in boxing, but Mosley will look more like Roy Jones Jr. in his later years than anything else.
He's a great, historic boxer, don't get me wrong, but Pacquiao not only has a lot more left, he's simply a better fighter right now.

People are trying to build this one up as only boxing matches can be hyped up, but if you really want to know what's going to happen on May 7, look to the obvious: Mosley will fight admirably, but still lose and possibly get knocked out.
The only chance Mosley has is if Pacquiao takes him too lightly, which doesn't seem likely given the dedication and focus Pac-Man has exhibited throughout his career.
If you want to get your hopes up that this will somehow substitute for a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout, go ahead and get your hopes up.
But if you want the reality of it all, know that this is simply a potential stop-gap to the eight-division world champion's quest to get to his true calling, going head to head with Mayweather.
